"KROLP UMULEK" (Without the Infection heart)

"WE HUNGER" (With the Infection heart)

Kadya Durazana is the penultimate boss of Elements Awoken. She can be fought after The Void Leviathan has been defeated and can be fought anywhere in the Surface anytime. Once Azana is defeated the player will be provided with Chaotron Ore.

Spawn[ | ]

Behaviour[ | ]

Phase 1[ | ]

  • Attempts to horizontally align with the player, firing a spread of three mini infection blasts.
  • Performs a series of rapid dashes towards the player.

Phase 2[ | ]

Once Azana has been defeated, the true battle begins.

  • Fires mini infection blasts at the player, which leave behind infection clouds.
  • Flies around the player, firing two lasers at certain intervals.
  • Stays in place, shortly releasing a group of infection clouds which shoot lasers around itself.
  • Releases circles of curving infection blasts while flying towards the player.
  • Summons infection pillars below the player which move upwards.
  • Fires multiple mini infection blasts from both sides of the player; these blasts move in a wave pattern and leave behind infection clouds.
  • Summons a target which follows the player for a while, shortly staying in place and raining infection globs above its position.
  • Shortly charges up energy before rapidly teleporting around the player, releasing chaos waves in a circle around herself.
  • Teleports around the player, shooting a cluster of infection blasts.
  • Teleports and diagonally charges at the player, shooting a stream of mini infection blasts from two angles.
  • Shoots infection clouds at the player.
  • Teleports near the player and charges at them.

Below 50% health:

  • Mini infection blasts are fired at a higher rate.
  • Lasers are fired faster and more frequently.
  • After her infection glob rain attack, stays in place and fires infection pillars roughly at the player position.
  • Flies above the player, releasing globs at certain intervals.
  • Shoots lasers in a cross pattern, then an X pattern, then finally a pattern of both.

Below 25% health:

  • Lasers are fired even faster and more frequently.
  • Rather than releasing circles of curving infection blasts, she releases multiple slightly homing infection globs.
  • After her laser cross attack, she summons multiple Infection Mouths.

When Azana has 5% or less of her life left, you have the choice to spare or kill her. To spare her, you will need to wait a 30 seconds without attacking her. If you manage to do so, she will disappear, leaving behind her drops.

Notes[ | ]

  • All damage dealt to Azana's first phase is doubled.
  • Throwing any type of Ore into the Infection Heart is another and more effective way of obtaining Chaotron Ore.

Trivia[ | ]

  • There is a small easter egg - if you throw the tomato at her during her second phase, it will trigger a unique quote from her.
  • Azana is based on bullet hell bosses, which require a lot of attention to beat.

Quotes[ | ]

Her quotes are mostly infected gibberish.

History[ | ]

Lore[ | ]

Desperate to find an end to Abraxis's reign over Terraria, a group of scientists led by a woman known as Kadya Durazana switched their efforts into technomancy, in the hopes to find the key to a strength powerful enough to oppose the elemental god. During their research, they had discovered a unique type of particle in the depths of the dark lands, nicknamed "Chaotrons". Such kind of particle was able to discharge seemingly infinite amounts of magical energy when applied with an electrical pulse. Harvesting it, they quickly discovered that it had multiple uses, from healing and travel, to energy and of course weaponry. Acknowledging its potential, they soon were used into creating weaponry able of vaporising even the strongest beings. Kadya, the leader, had bigger plans at hand; a mech suit powered by these particles, equipped with a warp core and seemingly dozens of Chaotron weapons at her disposal, capable of annihilating any and all of her enemies...except one. Throughout the days of testing, unusual side effects had plagued the scientists - some beginning to act strange, the other falling ill. Despite such backlash, they were working hard through the blooded breath and weakness, determined to manufacture enough firepower against Abraxis. After further testing, one of them dropped dead during their research. After taking a small sample of the writhing flesh, Kadya inspected it under the microscope, facing a rather shocking result - the cells were filled with these particles, demonstrating never seen before properties, almost behaving like a pathogen. With such news at hand, Kadya stashed away all equipment built with this "virus", locking it, with an internal promise to never open it again. But such action was too late. The virus, finally acknowledged as "Chaosporidia" was out there, worse, the host had been chosen.
